PRIVACY POLICY

Your job search
stays yours.

This policy explains how the AptiorDesk Job Capture Chrome extension handles information when you choose to capture a job listing and send it to AptiorDesk on the same computer.

Effective and last updated: August 28, 2026
NO ACCOUNTSNo registration or identity profile.
NO TRACKINGNo analytics, ads, or browsing surveillance.
LOCAL TRANSFERApproved jobs go only to AptiorDesk on your device.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the proprietary AptiorDesk Job Capture browser extension published by Oussama Hamida / Glidd.io. It complements the privacy information for the open-source AptiorDesk desktop application.

2. The extension's single purpose

The extension has one purpose: when you explicitly request it, it reads the job listing displayed in your current active browser tab, presents the detected fields for review or correction, and imports the job you approve into the locally running AptiorDesk desktop application.

It does not search for jobs, apply to jobs, read other tabs or windows, continuously monitor browsing, or run job-page extraction in the background.

3. Information handled

The extension handles only information necessary for that purpose:

  • Website content: job title, employer, location, job description, compensation, employment type, requirements, and other job-listing fields visible on the current page.
  • Current page information: the job-page URL, page title, and source website needed to identify and save the listing.
  • Local connection information: status and a temporary session credential used to connect securely to the AptiorDesk desktop bridge on the same device.

The extension is not designed to collect your name, email address, passwords, authentication cookies, payment information, health information, personal communications, precise location, or general browsing history.

4. When information is accessed

Job-page content is accessed only after you use the extension's visible Capture this job action. The extension then shows a preview so you can review the detected information before importing it. It does not collect job-page content merely because a page is open.

5. Where information goes

Approved job information is sent only to the AptiorDesk desktop application through the loopback address 127.0.0.1:8765 on the same computer. It is not sent to Glidd.io, the extension developer, advertising networks, data brokers, analytics services, or any other developer-operated server.

AptiorDesk stores imported jobs in its local application data directory. If you later choose an AI action in AptiorDesk, the desktop app—not this extension—may send the job content to the AI provider you explicitly configured. That separate action is explained inside AptiorDesk.

6. Storage and retention

The extension may retain local preferences and connection status in Chrome's extension storage. It does not maintain a developer-hosted database of captured jobs. Imported job records remain in AptiorDesk on your device until you delete them or delete AptiorDesk's local data.

7. Permissions

  • Scripting runs the packaged job extractor in the active tab only after your capture request.
  • Side panel provides the capture, preview, correction, connection, and import interface.
  • HTTP(S) host access allows the same capture workflow to work across public job boards, employer career pages, and applicant-tracking sites.
  • Loopback access connects the extension to AptiorDesk on your own computer.

All executable code is packaged with the extension. The extension does not download or execute remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly.

8. Sharing, selling, and advertising

We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data to third parties, use it for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose, use it for creditworthiness or lending, or use it for personalized advertising. We do not permit humans to read captured job data.

9. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the extension's clearly disclosed, user-facing job-capture feature.

10. Security

The desktop bridge listens only on the local loopback interface, accepts only the official AptiorDesk extension origin, validates imported data, limits request size, and uses a temporary in-memory session credential that changes when AptiorDesk restarts.

11. Your choices and deletion

You control every import. You can edit or cancel the preview, delete imported jobs in AptiorDesk, clear the extension's local storage by removing the extension, or delete all AptiorDesk local data from the desktop app's Privacy & Data settings.

12. Changes and contact

Material changes will be published on this page with a new effective date. For privacy questions, contact hello@glidd.io.
